Jagfest To Give Over $700 Dollars In Prizes 04/12/01

GOAT Store Press Release:

April 12, 2001 - Jagfest To Give Over $700 Dollars In Prizes

The GOAT Store today announced that sponsors for Atari Jaguar Festival 2K1: Beyond Tempest have donated over $700 dollars worth of merchandise to be given away. The donated merchandise will be given out as tournament and door prizes at the event.

"It goes to show you," Gary Heil of the GOAT Store said, "That the Atari Jaguar and all of classic gaming still has a great following. Im sure that Jagfest attendees will be exceptionally pleased with the amount of prizes and the quality they represent."

JAMMA Joysticks
The GOAT Store, in addition to hosting the event, is donating two of their popular JAMMA Joysticks as prizes. Using real arcade components, the joysticks designs are based on popular arcade machines. For the event, the GOAT Store is donating one Jaguar JAMMA Joystick and one 2600 JAMMA Joystick to be given away as prizes for games. The GOAT Store will also have a handful of JAMMA Joysticks on display for attendees to test out and play games with.

Games, Games And More Games
Numerous other companies have stepped forward to provide Jagfest 2K1: Beyond Tempest with the most prizes to be given away at a Jagfest ever. For donating prizes, the companies will become the sponsors of the events many competitions and drawings.

"The companies involved," stated Dan Loosen of the GOAT Store, "Are the reason that the Jaguar continues to thrive as an interesting system. Without their presence, there wouldnt be an Atari Jaguar Festival because the system wouldnt have the huge fan base that it currently enjoys. I would like to thank each and every one of them."

Atari Video Club
The Atari Video Club has been a long-standing contributor to every Atari Jaguar Festival to date and this year is no exception. In addition to sponsoring and attending this years event, the organization has donated the color edition of their Jagfest Fanzine.

Good Deal Games
Good Deal Games is a group of dedicated people who have been working hard to provide collectors with new and exciting material. Their most recent accomplishment comes in the form of two new Sega CD games: Bug Blasters: The Exterminators and Star Strike. Good Deal Games has donated a copy of both of these exciting games to be given away during the event.

Llamasoft
Jeff Minter made history by releasing what is still considered one of the best games of all time, Tempest 2000. Not just did the game start a new revolution in classic video games, but years after its release it is still looked upon as the best update to a classic video game. That was, until Jeff Minter made history again by releasing Tempest 3000 for NUON enhanced DVD players. For Jagfest 2K1: Beyond Tempest, Jeff Minter and his company Llamasoft has agreed to donate an undisclosed number of both versions of the game.

Songbird Productions
Songbird Productions, one of the biggest post-death allies to both the Atari Jaguar and Lynx, is donating two games. The first is the Songbird Productions release of Lexis, the exciting Tetris-based falling letters game recently released. The second is a new copy of the final Atari release for the Jaguar, Fight For Life.

Telegames
Rounding out the sponsors for Atari Jaguar Festival 2K1 is Telegames. Telegames is the first company to release Jaguar games for the system after Atari had pulled the plug. Their releases are considered, by many Jaguar fans, as the best games for the system. While Telegames has moved onto manufacturing games for many new systems, they have released eight games for the Jaguar and solidified themselves as one of the best known Jaguar producers. Out of the eight games released, the company is donating two copies each of their three most popular games. Those games: Iron Soldier II, World Tour Racing and Zero 5, are sure to be some of the most popular prizes that will be given away at Jagfest 2K1: Beyond Tempest.

And Beyond...
If reading through the above list of prizes isnt enough to make attendees excited, Dan Loosen of the GOAT Store commented, "Everyone has to remember that Jagfest is still a few months off. There are sure to be additions to this list.

"I simply cant thank the people and companies involved in donating material enough." Loosen continued, "The event will be memorable thanks to their enthusiasm about the Jaguar as well as the attendees. Jagfest 2K1: Beyond Tempest will be one of the most exciting events in classical gaming this year. Make sure to order your tickets today!"
