MINUX 10/12/00 -
I have exchanged a few e-mails with Michael Dennison about Minux. Although I have not really learnt anything new, I feel that I should share these e-mails with you. I am not endorsing anything Michael has said or claimed, because there are numerous questions about the respectability of his company, but I feel it would not be fair for me to completely ignore what he has said.

Here is the first e-mail:

Subject:   Minux

Dear Heath Anderson,

I noticed that on your web page my company Minux got some space on it, I would like to thank you for that. I did not want to post this on JI2 until we are complete; however, we are still working on our game for the Jaguar. I would like to inform you that you will be the first to receive news regarding the development of our game.
Michael
P.S.
If you have any question please contact me via e-mail!

I have a few questions for you: How long have you been developing your game? What kind of game is it? Who is on your development team? Do you have a title for the game yet? Who exactly are you? Could you give me some background information on your company? Others have tricked the Jaguar community into believing false statements, how do we know that you are for real?

If you don't feel comfortable answering all of these questions right now, at least tell me what you can.

Dear Heath Anderson,
Sorry for the delay; however, we had to finish writing this.
I believe this will aid you:
Volume Number: 1 Issue Number: 1
This is the first ever issue of Vampire Hunters: South Club,
and I hope to make it as formal as possible.
The People:
Michael Dennison (Programming)
Sean Fitzpatrick (Art)
Chris Sigman (Production)
Gaurve Bahal (Bypass)

Game Information:
Vampire Hunters: South Club is a first person shooter, much
like Towers II,Doom, or Wolfenstein. However, there are two
main differences:
1.	First, it is a true Role Playing Game (R.P.G)
2.	Second, it has a view and control much like Breakout 2000,
or Tempest 2000 (We only recommend using the Rotary Controller
for Vampire Hunters: South Club).

There are numerous characters that you can choose from:
1.	Wizard
2.	Warrior
3.	Warlock
4.	Witch
5.	Dwarf
6.	Nome
7.	Dragon (only possible to select when game is beaten).
There is a full two-player mode in Vampire Hunters: South Club,
and a battle mode thatsupports up to 32 players via Team Tap or
Cat Box.

The Story:
After the war of old, the evil rampaged through the earth,
rape and pillaging everything in sight. There was an unbalance
of good and evil in the universe. The golden pyramid was at
flames. The golden staff was banned into the far reaches of the
earth, and no mortal can ever bring it back. From the begging
there was light, and from that light there was dark. From the
light there was goodness, and from the darkness there was evil.
In every world there is a savior, someone to conquer the evil
and restore the balance between god and evil. In this case
there are the sacred warriors of time, and where there is light
there is darkness. The darkness was an evil dragon that was
summoned by the forces of old, or the forces of hell. This
dragon stood some hundred feet tall. Fire through his nostrils,
and smoke through his lungs. He would frighten all away, except
for those who are pure of heart. In this case those are our
heroes, the light in the darkness.Your quest is to rescue the
golden staff, and bring order into the paradox.

Frequented Asked Question (F.A.Q)
1.	Why only a one hundred and eighty degrees of playing field?
When we got the rotary controller we felt that it was a great
addition to the Jaguar. Thus, we decided to restrict the player
to one hundred and eighty degrees of playing field. Also we
decided to use it to conserve memory.

2.	Where can I get a rotary controller?
You can purchase a rotary controller from Jeff Thompson at
[email protected] for a mere $75.00 (including shipping and
handling.)

3.	Why the title?
When we got together to organize the game the first thing
that we thought of was how to create a title that really
rolls off your lips. Thus, we created Vampire Hunters:
South Club. However, the title always seems to confuse
people so here is hopefully the answer to your questions.
By club we mean a group of people organized for a common
purpose, and by south we mean to turn or move toward the
south (where the golden staff is located.)

That was the last e-mail I received from him to date, but here is a recent post of his on JI2:

My New WebPage:

Posted by Michael (proxy2-external.hwrd1.md.home.com) on October 12, 2000 at 06:24:40:

I have got a lot of questions about what happened to Minux; on my new page I will go into dept of what happened. Until then this is what I can say about my new page. Making WebPages is harder then most people think, meaning, that people as a whole never plan for pages. The hobbyist of America just sits down and code, I am much different however. I am still working on an algorithm for my page, and it will be complete sometime around Christmas. Until then please e-mail me with any question. By the way, I will post a lot of interviews with people form the Atari Jaguar community on my eNews letter. Stay tuned for fun and games!
Sincerely,
Michael Dennison
