JAGUAR EMULATORS! 7/21/00
- As of right now there are three Jag emulator projects going on:
Jagulator,
Emu Jag, and
JagBag. None of these are complete,
but have been making progress. Emu
Jag has 98% of the 68k CPU emulated, 70% of the GPU, 0% of the DSP, and
around 70% on the OP. The JagBag
team is "trying to figure out a *possible* release date, yep, you read it....a
RELEASE DATE for this thing." Here is some Q&As from their site:
Q : What is that JagViewer thingy I downloaded from your site ?
A : Well, with this nice little utility, you can view Jaguar gfx INSIDE a
ROM-File, no more
no less, just have a look at the screenshots, one update before this
one....
Q : If and when will there be a running Jaguar Emulator ?

A : Sorry, no answer on this kinda questions !!!

A : I know of two other : Jagulator and EmuJag, Status unknown !
AREA 64 GETS SOME NEW GOODIES 7/18/00 - I just registered the domain atarijaguar.net; and plan on providing free hosting(yourname.atarijaguar.net) and free web-based e-mail([email protected]). Hopfully it will not take longer than a week to set up these services.
JAGUAR ROTARY CONTROLLERS 7/17/00 - KAM Productions has started working on Jaguar rotary controllers. They will be almost identical to the regular controllers except for a rotary knob on the back of the controller and a toggle switch on the bottom. They are expected to sell for $39.95 plus S&H. PHASE ZERO ROM 7/14/00 - Mark "Stingray" Santora has put the Phase Zero Rom on his website for downloading. It can be played up to level 5, but after that it hangs up. You will need a flash rom or a modded Jaguar to load the rom image.

GAMES IN DEVELOPMENT 7/13/00 - Several new games have been announced and are in development. These include: Arkanna, by Storm Works Interactive; Gorf 2000, by Force/Krunch; The Assassin and Age of Darkness are still being worked on by OMC Games; and Songbird has acquired complete rights and source to the Virtual VCS, which emulates the classic Atari VCS (or 2600) games on the Jaguar platform. Songbird will also be will be producing a Rapid Fire Controller for the Jaguar.
NEW GAMES 7/13/00- Its has been almost a year since I've updated this, and during this time several great things have happened. BattleSphere was finally released! Sadly I was not able to get a copy:( but hopefully if-when there is a second run I will get this great game. Songbird has released Protector, Soccer Kid, Hyperforce, and SkyHammer.
